| Can I use my meal plan to buy a meal for a guest? | |
| top | Yes, you can use one of your allotted meals for that week, or you may use Dining Dollars to buy a meal for your guest. To provide a guest meal in any Residence Hall Dining Hall, you must swipe your Tech Express Card and deduct a meal from your card for your guest's meal. You and your guest(s) must be present together in the dining hall during the meal. You may never lend your Tech Express Card, nor may you swipe in a guest and leave the guest unattended in the dining hall. |
| Can I eat more than 3 meals a day in the dining room? | |
| top | Yes. Each time you enter the dining room you must swipe your card and have a meal deducted from your meal plan. |
| I'd like to earn some extra cash for spending money. Is it possible to apply for part-time employment on-campus? | |
| top | Yes. You may apply for part-time employment online here or when you arrive on campus. Many residents are hired in the cafeterias or on the custodial crews. Applications will be available during the week of Orientation. Watch for postings. In addition, the University Career Center posts other jobs that are available to students. |
| Why does my bill say that I live in one hall but am supposed to eat in another? | |
| top | On your student bill, you may notice that it indicates your meal plan is set for a Dining Hall that is different then your residence hall room. This was caused by some incorrect coding on our computer system. But no worries about the meal plan listing on your bill, you are welcome to eat in any residence dining hall of your choice. |
| What is the Residence Hall posting and table tent policy? | |
| top | Please visit www.housing.mtu.edu/housing/residence_hall_handbook to view the posting policy. |
