Housing - Parent(s)/Guardian

Parent(s), guardian(s) and family members are an important factor in the success of our students at Michigan Tech. We view you as our partner. We respect your need to guide, encourage, and be involved, but please remember our preference is to work directly with your student, as it is very important that they learn important life skills while they are at Michigan Tech. We view your student as a responsible, accountable, and capable young adult and respect their decisions and privacy. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (also referred to as FERPA or the Buckley Amendment) does not permit public colleges and universities to provide information about a student without the student’s permission. Please feel free to contact us at housing@mtu.edu or 906-487-2682 if you think your student could use some assistance, we will get involved to ensure their well- being.
